Fabulous February has arrived! Shortest month of the year seems to fly by sandwiched between January and March. We're back at sharing costume designs and pushing out app and game updates for Valentines. We'll be travelling and hatching some magical birdie ballet plans too.
We're very excited to be producing The Nutcracker as a seasonal game title. For 2016 - Game Play will be centred on The Waltz of the Flowers and we will be sharing links to the WebGL version and Mobile versions for iOS and Android in time for this coming holiday season.
For now we are sharing some promotional posters featuring the third gift reimagined. If you are familiar with the Nutcracker story, Drosselmeyer brings to Clara 3 gifts. The third of which is a Nutcracker Doll. As is plain to see from the artwork above...we have taken artistic license to re-imagine the doll for 2016.
What words do a ballet tutu evoke? Every Tuesday, we work to create and share a unique costume design concept via Social Media. This past week's concept was inspired by Typography.
If you would like to see more costume designs by Big Top Ballet we post these with the hashtag #tututuesday, see more from Big Top Ballet on Instagram.
We are counting down to the first winter frost, when we will unveil Big Top Ballet's seasonal release inspired by The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky. Each year we will build on the prior year's work as part of our game play repertoire.
Again our team is enormously privileged to work with the very talented Ill-Esha, who has worked on a custom composition for the 'Waltz of the Flowers' to debut our annual winter launch.
Snowflakes, these little sparkling crystals of such elegant complexity never cease to amaze. For this #TutuTuesday our inspiration is snow, for what is a waltz without it’s snowflakes?
With American Thanksgiving this coming weekend and Christmas holidays on their way, today’s tutu for #TutuTuesday is inspired by the Poinsettia Christmas Flower. Just bought some yesterday to fill the studio and get into the spirit of the season.
Multicoloured kaleidoscope of butterflies make up this Tutu. Our artist worked over the week on different butterflies that are part of the tutu above which are composed of a mix of watercolour, graphite, and digital rendering.
